Working on an infographic of all the food I’ve consumed in the last 72 hours for Information Architecture. It’s really weird ok.
“A lot of times photographers are asked to do work for free. It’s a tough situation because most of us LIKE shooting and would do it for free if we had to,but, at what point do you have to value yourself enough to say; “No. I deserve to be paid for my work.”? We have to weigh the benefits vs. drawbacks to doing gratis work. Is it a great magazine that we are trying to break into? Is it a client that repeatedly ask us to do favors,but, never repays them with a paying gig? It’s a sticky situation in these times when clients are trying to save money and there are a handful of photographers who would kill to do the free job…One thing I have learned; Whenever something is said to be “great exposure” it NEVER IS.”
